Men And Silence: Letting depression rule?

Men And Silence: Letting depression Rule?

Men and silence, letting depression rule? Why? Well it's a complex question. Our silence was built upon countless years of seeing pain from the interior as non manly, somehow we are weaker, defective and inferior if we have depression or any other mental illness for that matter. And, if we dare bare our souls or shed a tear... Oh! Boy! Let me tell ya, we men would shatter like glass.

It has been my mission to reach as many people as I can, blogging is great for this. I am very hopeful that my story resonates with at least a percentage of the people who read it. Thus far, we have had approximately 3000 unique visits to the blog in a month; I am so grateful that all of you have stopped by The Road to Mental Wellness. With an untold number of places you could go on this vast internet, you stopped by here..... You're all amazing! Thank You so much.

That's a pretty good number as far as I am concerned. It does my heart good to know that my blog could potentially help inspire people to keep going or otherwise, help them to get started on their own wellness journey; if it ends up only helping a sliver of those who drop by, then it will all be worth it.

Now, with all that said, I also help people in the real world, I love it, but the one thing I notice is that it's rare to have a man seek my out my help. I am worried of all men who stick to the old fashion narrative of keeping quiet is a measure of manhood. Well, its not frankly. I do understand the mental mountain men must climb to be ok with, one, talking about their depression and or other mental heath conditions and two, seeking help for it. There's no shame in mental pain brothers.

The way I see it, we are more than the sum of our manliness, we have loved ones in our life that have an emotional investment in us. Therefore, as shitty as it may be to go through, we have to man up and try. We want or sons, nephews, cousins and dads to be around for a long time, so I reckon that they feel the same about us. Love for others and being loved ourselves is an amazing thing and is worthy of fighting to keep.

I know your tired and I know that sometimes just checking your phone seems like your training to be
a navy seal, Yes, it can be that tough....... but we need to find our change at happy again, fight on bro, fight on!
